gym teachers

I honestly don't understand why we have gym in school. Gym to me feels like such a big waste. I mean if I want to keep in shape I will do so myself and going to gym 2-3 times a week won't do much. If we were traing with waights then thats diferent but all we do is dumb games our school makes up. I have better things to do with my time then go to gym. Plus gym teachers are major jerks. Mr. folley was cool and understood if i had to miss a day of gym and would let me go and do what i needed to get done as long as I make up the class later. It's to bad he retired. Now most of the teachers we have are major jerks. Even to the good kids. If anyone agrees please comment.
